Law360, New York (May 25, 2012, 11:52 AM ET) -- Japan-based global pharmaceutical and research company Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. has agreed to acquire Brazilian drugmaker Multilab Industria e Comercio de Produtos Farmaceuticos Ltda. for roughly $247 million, Takeda said Friday.
The Osaka-based drug manufacturer said it planned to complete the Multilab acquisition later this year. The deal includes a $246.7 million upfront cash payment by Takeda and future milestone payments to Multilab senior management of up to $19.7 million, the buyer said.
