Law360, New York (May 31, 2012, 6:48 PM ET) -- St. Jude Medical Inc. will pay $3.65 million to settle whistleblower allegations that it inflated the cost of replacement pacemakers and defibrillators purchased by the U.S. Defense and Veterans Affairs departments, federal prosecutors said Thursday.
The suit alleged St. Jude had knowingly failed to apply pricing credits for failed devices that were removed from patients while still covered by a product warranty, leading to inflated charges to the federal government.
