Law360, New York (June 20, 2012, 7:11 PM ET) -- U.S. House Republicans on Wednesday introduced legislation that would block an Internal Revenue Service rule making premium tax credits available for both state and federal insurance exchanges as directed by the health care reform law, asserting that the agency is overstepping its constitutional bounds.
The lawmakers behind the measure, Reps. Phil Roe, R-Tenn., and Scott DesJarlais, R-Tenn., claim the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, as written, only allows the tax credits to be available for state exchanges, not federal ones.
