FDA User Fee Bill Breezes Through Congress

Law360, New York (June 26, 2012, 8:23 PM ET) -- The U.S. Senate passed the Food and Drug Administration user fee package Tuesday by wide margins, as expected, despite a two-hour speech from one senator who said the bill's breakneck speed through Congress kept supply chain track-and-trace measures from being included in the legislation.

The vote, 92-4, came less than a week after the House approved the bill in a unanimous voice vote. The legislation — which includes provisions on market exclusivity, clinical trial data and device safety — will now go to the White House...
