CVS Caremark To Halt Coverage For 17 Drugs

Law360, New York (July 12, 2012, 7:59 PM ET) -- CVS Caremark Corp. said Thursday it would stop covering 17 prescription medicines next year under its pharmacy benefit management business as it tries to discourage treatment with higher-cost therapeutics and fights back against money-losing coupons for brand-name drugs.

The company cast the move as essential to controlling costs in a management business that serves corporate clients and health plans with 60 million members.
