Law360, New York (July 27, 2012, 8:37 PM ET) -- A New York state court dismissed Stryker Corp. and a Corin Ltd. unit on Thursday from a patient's lawsuit claiming a Corin metal-on-metal hip implant failed and caused him to lose his mobility, one of hundreds of similar suits nationwide over metal-on-metal devices.
Justice Thomas Adams granted dismissal motions from Corin USA Ltd. Inc., Stryker and two Stryker units in a one-page order. Remaining in the suit as defendants are two physicians and the hospital where plaintiff Robert Litwin received the implant.
