Law360, New York (December 18, 2003, 12:00 AM ET) -- India’s government approved the introduction of a bill in Parliament to amend the Patents Act of 1970, local newspapers reported.
The amendment is intended to ensure that India meets its international obligations under the Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) regime of the World Trade Organisation by January 1, 2005.
The bill, to be introduced in current session of Parliament, will be be referred to a standing committeee after its introduction in Parliament.
