Bayer's Yaz Ads Violated Racketeering Law: Suit

Law360, New York (October 06, 2009, 7:02 PM ET) -- A Philadelphia union health fund has sued Bayer AG, claiming the Germany-based pharmaceutical giant engaged in a three-year-long racketeering scheme to market and sell its contraception drug Yaz, illicitly reaping hundreds of millions of dollars.

The Philadelphia Firefighters Union Local No. 22 Health and Welfare Fund's complaint, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, adds to the defendant's legal woes stemming from the popular birth control medication.
