Law360, New York (July 08, 2011, 1:11 PM ET) -- The Eighth Circuit on Friday greenlighted the National Football League's lockout as part of the league's fight against an antitrust class action brought by its players, saying a Depression-era law designed to protect workers also blocks courts from interfering in management-imposed work stoppages.
In a 2-1 ruling, the federal appeals court found that the lower court's decision to issue an injunction blocking the lockout ran afoul of the 1932 Norris-LaGuardia Act, which curbs the power of courts to interfere in labor disputes.
