New Facebook Features Violate FTC Act, Watchdog Says

Law360, New York (September 29, 2011, 3:23 PM ET) -- The Electronic Privacy Information Center pressed the Federal Trade Commission on Thursday to investigate new Facebook features that allegedly share users' personal information on the site in a more public manner than was promised under a previous privacy policy.

EPIC announced it had sent a letter to the FTC claiming Facebook's Ticker, Timeline and Open Graph features constituted unfair and deceptive trade practices under Section 5 of the FTC Act, as did its purported tracking of users' Internet activity after they log out of the site....
