Microsoft Defends Xbox In Motorola Patent Battle

Law360, New York (February 24, 2012, 9:12 PM ET) -- Microsoft Corp. fought back Friday against allegations that its Xbox gaming consoles infringe Motorola Mobility Inc.'s wireless communication patents, telling the U.S. International Trade Commission that Motorola has failed to prove its case on the merits or demonstrate any evidence of infringement.

In a post-hearing brief, Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft maintains that while Motorola asserts infringement and competitive harm, Microsoft’s Xbox and related accessories are sold in a market in which Motorola doesn’t compete.
