Law360, New York (March 12, 2012, 2:43 PM ET) -- Kanye West and Jay-Z last week settled a copyright lawsuit lodged in Illinois against them by soul singer Syl Johnson, who claimed the duo sampled his hit “Different Strokes” without permission on their joint concept album “Watch The Throne."
U.S. District Judge Ruben Castillo dismissed suit March 6, after the musicians notified the court that a settlement had been reached. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
