Telecom Groups Praise House Passage Of FCC Reform Bill

Law360, New York (March 28, 2012, 8:27 PM ET) -- Telecommunications industry groups have been reacting positively to Tuesday's passage of a Republican-backed U.S. House of Representatives bill limiting the Federal Communications Commission's ability to win concessions from merging companies.

The Federal Communications Commission Process Reform Act, which won approval by a 247-174 vote, establishes new procedures for the agency, including a requirement that the FCC analyze market conditions related to a given sector within its purview before adopting or amending a rule that may have an impact in that industry.
