2 More Firms Sued Over Copyrighted Material In Patent Docs

Law360, New York (April 23, 2012, 5:03 PM ET) -- Two more law firms were hit with copyright infringement suits in Texas and Kansas federal courts on Friday, part of an ongoing war by the American Institute of Physics and two publishers who claim their scientific journal articles have been improperly used in patent applications.

The two suits target Dallas-based Winstead PC and Kansas City, Mo.-based Hovey Williams LLP for earning profits enforcing intellectual property rights for clients even as they allegedly flouted the intellectual property rights of scientific journal publishers.
