USPTO Says Use Of Copyrighted Materials Vital To Patent Apps

Law360, New York (June 12, 2012, 9:01 PM ET) -- The use of copyrighted literature in the filing of patents is fundamental to the patent system and shouldn't be impeded, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office said Tuesday as it sought to intervene in a copyright infringement suit against McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP.
