Weinstein Can't Dodge Author's Suit Over 'Reader' Profits

Law360, Los Angeles (September 20, 2012, 7:49 PM ET) -- The Weinstein Co. lost a bid Thursday to dismiss a “Hollywood accounting” suit alleging it has failed to pay the author of the best-selling novel “The Reader” at least $1 million in film profits, but the studio dodged a claim it committed fraud by allegedly breaching the terms of a film rights agreement.
