Law360, New York (October 16, 2012, 3:58 PM ET) -- Forging ahead with legalized sports betting despite a lawsuit brought by professional sports leagues and the NCAA, New Jersey said Monday that it would begin accepting applications from racetracks and Atlantic City casinos to offer such gambling.
No licenses will be issued before Jan. 9, according to the state Division of Gaming Enforcement. Regulations implementing New Jersey's controversial sports wagering law became effective Monday with the publication of their final adoption in the state register.
