Hendrix Estate Settles $2M Contract Row With Film Producer

Law360, Los Angeles (February 05, 2013, 5:41 PM ET) -- Jimi Hendrix's estate has reached a tentative settlement on the eve of a Los Angeles trial in its $2 million lawsuit accusing a movie producer of fraudulently backing out of a deal to release a Hendrix concert film and soundtrack, attorneys for the estate said Tuesday.

The tentative deal came after two days of mediation before Judge Louis M. Meisinger of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, and included Hendrix's adopted sister, Janie Hendrix, according to Edwin F. McPherson, one of the estate's lawyers.
