Legal Battle Looms Over Internet Ad Formats

Law360, New York (January 07, 2004, 12:00 AM ET) -- InternetAd Systems, which recently sued several popular online content providers, says it plans to seek royalties from websites that use various online ad formats, including some types of pop-up and pop-under ads.

In November of last year, InternetAd Systems filed a legal complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas against ESPN, The New York Times Co. and Travelocity.com, alleging that the companies infringed one or all of its four patents related to internet advertisements.
