Law360, New York (August 22, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. Supreme Court dealt a blow to EchoStar Communications Corp. Tuesday when it denied the cable provider's emergency request to stay an injunction that will force the company to stop rebroadcasting copyrighted television network shows.
As a result of the decision, which was penned by Justice Clarence Thomas, EchoStar must now face an injunction put in place by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit when it ruled the company’s practices violated federal copyright law.
