Jones Day Reps SAP In $5.8B Sybase Deal

Law360, New York (May 13, 2010, 3:26 PM ET) -- Business management software maker SAP AG has agreed to acquire database software company Sybase Inc. for $5.8 billion in a deal aimed at making SAP's products more accessible on mobile devices.

Germany-based SAP and California-based Sybase announced the all-cash tender offer Wednesday in a joint statement. SAP will pay $65 per share for Sybase, which is a 44 percent premium over the company's three-month average stock price, the statement said.
