E.U. To Probe Sony-BMG Marriage Further: Sources

Law360, New York (February 27, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- With the European Union set to announce if it will probe deeper into the merger of Sony and BMG, antitrust experts say another investigation will lead to a thorny divorce between the media goliaths and affect future mergers in the industry.

After the Luxembourg-based European Court of First Instance challenged the European Commission’s approval of the Sony Corp. and Bertelsmann AG joint venture, many say it is likely the E.C. will decide to launch a second investigation.
