Law360, New York (February 23, 2011, 3:12 PM ET) -- The Federal Trade Commission appealed a decision Wednesday that rejected its bid to temporarily block Laboratory Corp. of America's $57.5 millon deal for rival Westcliff Medical Laboratories Inc.
After a district court judge denied the FTC's request for a preliminary injunction on Tuesday, the antitrust watchdog filed a notice of appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
FTC Bureau of Competition Director Richard Feinstein said Wednesday that the agency was disappointed with the district court's ruling on the injunction.
