National Express Buys School Bus Co. Petermann For $200M

Law360, New York (September 13, 2011, 5:23 PM ET) -- British transport company National Express Group PLC announced Tuesday it has snatched up U.S. student bus company Petermann Partners from private equity firm Macquarie Global Opportunities Partners LP for $200 million in a bid to expand its North American business.

Already the second-largest private school bus contractor in the U.S., National Express said the acquisition of Ohio-based Petermann will grow its U.S. fleet by a fifth and bolster its paratransit capabilities to provide transport for the elderly and those with special needs.
