United Copper Takes On $150M Debt In KPS Capital Buyout

Law360, New York (October 20, 2011, 5:59 PM ET) -- United Copper Industries, a leading manufacturer of copper wire, has taken on $150 million in debt as part of a buyout by private equity firm KPS Capital Partners LLC, the company said Thursday.

Under the deal, financed by GE Capital, United Copper said it plans to hire additional employees and look for acquisition opportunities in an effort to boost already-growing earnings as it awaits an eventual recovery in the construction sector.
