Law360, New York (November 10, 2011, 1:47 PM ET) -- Swedish hygiene and paper company Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget has inked a deal to buy the European tissue business of Georgia-Pacific LLC for €1.32 billion ($1.8 billion), the company announced Thursday.
SCA said the proposed deal, which will boost its sales of tissues, diapers and other consumer products, will save the company roughly $170 million by 2014.
"The deal is a strategic fit and will strengthen our product offering and geographic reach in Europe," SCA President and CEO Jan Johansson said. "It also leads to substantial synergies."...
