Terra Firma Inks $438M Deal To Buy UK Garden Retailer

Law360, New York (March 26, 2012, 4:16 PM ET) -- London-based private equity firm Terra Firma acquired The Garden Centre Group, Britain's biggest plant and garden care retailer, for £276 million ($438.4 million), the parties announced Monday.

The deal, approved by shareholders and the company's board of directors, will be financed with a debt-equity mix, with debt arranged through Lloyds TSB Bank PLC, Barclays Corporate and The Co-Operative Bank PLC, according to a Terra Firma statement.

Lloyds Banking Group had been a major shareholder.
