Sealing The Deal: Orrick Reps Yammer In $1.2B Microsoft Sale

Law360, New York (July 27, 2012, 3:54 PM ET) -- Yammer Inc. notched one of the social media world's biggest-ever exits when it buttoned up a $1.2 billion sale to Microsoft this month, guided by an Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP team that used its relationship with the company to harness the resurging startup market.

The purchase price for the workplace social network — rivaled only by Facebook Inc.'s $1 billion buy of photo-sharing site Instagram — indicates a percolating startup market, reawakened post-recession with a redoubled social media focus.
