Weil Helps Apple With $357M Buy Of Sensor Maker

Law360, New York (July 27, 2012, 1:12 PM ET) -- Apple Inc. and one of its subsidiaries are picking up fingerprint sensor and identity-based security software manufacturer AuthenTec Inc. for about $357 million and also taking some of its intellectual property, according to a Friday regulatory filing.

The technology giant and its subsidiary Bryce Acquisition Corp. have offered to pay $8 per share in cash for AuthenTec's outstanding 44,744,222 shares.
