Law360, New York (July 27, 2012, 4:09 PM ET) -- Universal Music Group offered antitrust remedies Friday that the company expects to appease the European Commission's objections to its $1.9 billion proposed acquisition of EMI Group Ltd.'s recorded music unit.
The company formally offered commitments to the the European Union's antitrust regulator just over a month after the European Commission laid out its concerns about the tie-up of two of the world's biggest music labels.
A Universal spokesman said the company was confident it would win clearance from the regulator.
