Trial Tests FTC's Power To Take On Hospital-Doc Mergers

Law360, New York (September 20, 2013, 8:26 PM ET) -- The Federal Trade Commission will face off Monday against St. Luke's Health System Ltd. in a trial challenging the hospital group's acquisition of the Idaho region's largest independent physician practice, in a case that will test the antitrust watchdog's ability to take on mergers between hospital groups and major physician practices.
