L'Oreal In Talks To Pay $314M For Shiseido Spa Brands

Law360, New York (October 17, 2013, 4:51 PM ET) -- Personal beauty giant L'Oreal entered exclusive negotiations with Japan's largest cosmetics group, Shiseido, to buy their Decleor and Carita spa brands for €230 million ($314 million), the companies said Thursday.

Both companies are consulting their employee representatives, and based on those results, they will submit the transaction to regulators. L'Oreal called the spa companies "inspirational and complementary," and said they grew into some of the world's largest cosmetic providers under Shiseido's management.
