Deals Rumor Mill: Verizon, Goldman Sachs, BRF SA

By Benjamin Horney (July 22, 2016, 4:00 PM EDT) -- Verizon Communications Inc. may be the big winner in the battle to buy Yahoo Inc.'s core internet assets, Bloomberg reported on Friday, with the two nearing an agreement that could have a price tag of nearly $5 billion. According to the report, a deal could be announced within the next few days, although nothing is final. The news follows reports from earlier this week that the list of potential suitors had been whittled down to five, and it now appears Verizon has beat out competitors including TPG Capital Management and AT&T Inc., among others. The Yahoo saga has been ongoing for months....
