AstraZeneca Aims To Cut NY, NJ Plaintiffs From MDL

Law360, New York (September 09, 2009, 12:27 PM ET) -- AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP has asked the federal judge in charge of the multidistrict litigation over bipolar disorder treatment Seroquel to dismiss lawsuits brought by plaintiffs in New York and New Jersey for lack of subject matter jurisdiction.

In a motion filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, AstraZeneca claims diversity does not exist in the 15 New York and New Jersey plaintiffs’ complaints and asks the court to dismiss the actions from the MDL.
