Enzi Promises Fight Over Labor Solicitor Nominee

Law360, New York (October 08, 2009, 12:16 PM ET) -- Immediately after a U.S. Senate committee cleared President Barack Obama's nominee for solicitor of the U.S. Department of Labor, the committee's ranking Republican, Sen. Mike Enzi of Wyoming, said he intended to put a hold on her nomination if it reached the Senate floor.

The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee voted 13-10 along straight party lines on Wednesday to approve M. Patricia Smith, currently serving as commissioner of New York's Department of Labor, to fill the chief legal post at the Department of Labor....
