Judge Bags Bourke's Attack On Criminal Verdict

Law360, New York (October 14, 2009, 7:43 PM ET) -- A federal judge has denied Frederic Bourke Jr.'s motion to set aside a verdict following the co-founder of bag maker Dooney & Bourke's conviction for conspiring to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and making false statements over a plan to profit from the privatization of Azerbaijan's state oil company.

Judge Shira A. Scheindlin's 65-page ruling, issued Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, also denied the 63-year-old Greenwich, Conn., resident's motion for a new trial.
