USPTO Bearing Down On Backlog: Deputy Director

Law360, New York (May 06, 2010, 3:58 PM ET) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is working to reduce the attrition rate of its patent examiners as it seeks to reduce a backlog of patent applications, USPTO Deputy Director Sharon Barner said Thursday.

Barner was the luncheon speaker at the American Intellectual Property Law Association's spring meeting in New York and discussed the agency's efforts to deal with backlog and reduce the pendency of patent applications.
