Law360, New York (June 04, 2010, 4:12 PM ET) -- The state of New Jersey runs the highest risk of litigation and high tort costs, while Alaska has the lowest combined tort cost and risk, according to a study ranking the tort systems of all 50 states.
The study, released Wednesday by the Pacific Research Institute and Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI, ranked each state's tort climate by the amount of money paid in plaintiff awards and settlements and the number of lawsuits filed.
