Law360, New York (June 30, 2010, 5:04 PM ET) -- In a trademark fight between Gucci America Inc. and Guess Inc., a judge has ruled that Gucci can't wield attorney-client privilege to protect e-mails of a former general counsel who is an inactive member of the California bar.
U.S. Magistrate Judge James L. Cott of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York denied Gucci's bid for a protective order Tuesday, finding attorney-client privilege doesn't apply to an inactive bar member.
