Law360, New York (August 17, 2010, 3:07 PM ET) -- Chemtura Corp. has agreed to pay $800,000 to settle an environmental claim for cleanup at several Florida sites, a claim that the company previously tried to discharge through its Chapter 11 process.
The bankrupt chemical company filed a motion Monday seeking permission from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York to enter into an agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
