Law360, New York (December 08, 2010, 6:16 PM ET) -- A federal judge has granted preliminary approval of a $5.3 million class action settlement to cover claims of copyright infringement in a long-running suit over Sirius XM Radio Inc. recording devices.
Judge Lewis Kaplan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York certified two separate classes on Tuesday, one class for holders of copyrights on sound recordings that will take in a larger portion of the settlement, and a second class for holders of song composition copyrights.
