RCN, Paxfire Accused Of Intercepting Web Searches

Law360, New York (August 04, 2011, 8:51 PM ET) -- Internet service provider RCN Corp. and Paxfire Inc., which generates revenue from Internet searches, were hit with a proposed class action Thursday in New York accusing them of wiretap violations and breach of contract for secretly intercepting customers' Internet activity for profit.

Plaintiff Betsy Feist claims the companies intercepted customers' Google, Bing and Yahoo searches as well as Web addresses they visited and redirected them to third-party advertisers employed by Paxfire.
