Law360, New York (June 13, 2012, 9:17 PM ET) -- Colorado business information services company IHS Inc. plunked down $135 million to take engineering search specialist GlobalSpec Inc. from private equity owner Warburg Pincus LLC, part of the buyer's long-term plan to develop its business through acquisitions, according to an announcement Tuesday.
The buy gives IHS access to GlobalSpec's user base, which encompasses some 7 million engineers worldwide, after the New York company registered 500,000 new users last year, the buyer said in supplemental investor materials on the acquisition.
