Law360, New York (August 26, 2011, 4:57 PM ET) -- Ireland's data protection commissioner told lobbyist Europe v. Facebook on Wednesday it was investigating 16 complaints the group filed over an array of the social networking site's privacy policies for tagging, facial recognition and other site functions.
The move comes after the privacy regulator for the German state of Schleswig-Holstein found earlier in August that Facebook's like button violated German and European Union data protection laws because it relayed personal data to website owners.
