Law360, New York (December 09, 2011, 7:05 PM ET) -- A House subcommittee on Thursday approved a bill aimed at protecting insurers from federal subpoena powers created under the financial reform act, requiring new federal offices to obtain data from state regulators instead of directly from companies.
The House insurance, housing, and community opportunity subcommittee passed H.R. 3559, the Insurance Data Protection Act, by a vote of 7-5.
