JPMorgan Agrees To Pay $9M To End Robocall Suits

Law360, New York (January 18, 2012, 1:53 PM ET) -- JPMorgan Chase Bank NA said it would pay between $7 million and $9 million to settle two proposed class actions claiming it illegally made automated calls to residential loan holders' cellphones without consent, plaintiffs told a California federal court Tuesday.

The lawsuits accuse JPMorgan of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act through automated nonemergency calls, commonly called robocalls, made to collect debts.
