Law360, Chicago (May 14, 2012, 7:16 PM ET) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to review a Seventh Circuit ruling that companies can obtain drivers' personal information from motor vehicle departments to resell to legally authorized parties, denying a bid by the Illinois drivers who brought the proposed class action.
The high court denied without comment the writ of certiorari petition that three plaintiffs filed in March. The drivers argued that a three-judge Seventh Circuit panel had erred when it entered its September ruling in favor of defendant West Publishing Co.
