Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 8:38 PM ET) -- Facebook Inc. has reached a $10 million preliminary settlement in a putative class action that accused the social network of allegedly using users' images and likenesses in advertisements without their permission, according to documents filed Friday in the case.
Mediator Edward Infante revealed in a declaration filed Friday in support of the settlement that the parties agreed Facebook would pay the money into a fund to be distributed to nonprofits that pursue advocacy on privacy issues.
