Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 10:01 PM ET) -- Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Inc. and Freddie Mac have reached a $17 million settlement that will resolve two putative class actions claiming they unlawfully contacted customers on their cellphones, according to documents filed Monday in California federal court.
The defendants were sued in June 2010 on charges that Wells Fargo violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by contacting account-holders on their cellphones without prior express consent, using an automatic telephone dialing system and using a prerecorded voice to provide account services for its own home mortgages...
