Law360, New York (August 06, 2012, 6:53 PM ET) -- The Huffington Post was hit with a putative class action in Illinois on Friday by a woman claiming the online news giant illegally sent her multiple unsolicited text messages despite her multiple requests to unsubscribe from the service.
Alicia St. Leger, an Illinois resident, claims the unwanted text messages from The Huffington Post, which is owned by AOL Inc., violated the U.S. Telephone Consumer Protection Act and increased her cellphone bill, which requires her to pay for text messages she receives.
